For the first time in Russia, the world star of contemporary sculpture will visit St. Petersburg and conduct a sculpture course dedicated to sculpting a female figure

Brian Booth Craig is a contemporary sculptor who specializes in bronze. Sculpting from life, his work translates observationally derived figures into contemporary icons.

Brian studied sculpture at Pennsylvania State University (BA) and the New York Academy of Art (MFA). Brian taught at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts and instructs workshops world wide.

This course will cover the basic techniques of sculpting the figure in clay working from a live model using an approximately 1/3 scale armature. Emphasis will be placed on linear and volumetric proportions, basic anatomy, composition, gesture, and direct observation techniques.
